For an upcoming paper mask workshop, I want the planning stage to account for the different outlines of participants’ faces. The standard outline is easy to copy, although it does not explain which parts should be adjusted for a particular wearer. I am considering a short explanation of face shapes as background for that worksheet. I would keep this separate from actual measurements, because a category cannot tell us whether the paper piece will sit comfortably. I am thinking of adding a small outline sketch where people can mark width and jaw contours before choosing a template. We plan to try the undecorated paper pieces first, so changes to the contour can happen before anyone starts painting. The worksheet needs an option for a mixed outline, since forcing a single category would add confusion to the practical task. The finished design can still be exaggerated for a character; the preliminary notes are simply there to guide the first fitting. What would you include on that planning sheet to make the first fitting easier without turning the workshop into a classification lesson?
